Factional ‘fresh PDP’ Collapses, Fuse Into PDP

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which emerged after some aggrieved members of the party protested against the emergence of a new National Working Committee, has collapsed.

The group known as ‘Fresh PDP‘ collapsed itself fusing into the Prince Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee, (NWC).

This development is after Olukayode Akindele, the group National Chairman met with the party’s former national chairman of PDP, ‎Okwesilieze Nwodo, on Saturday in Abuja.

“I am delighted to tell you that we have collapsed into the mainstream PDP.

“We have assurances from our leaders and the we will not have a parallel NWC Monday,” Akindele said while addressing newsmen, adding that they decided to collapse the parallel party in the interest of Nigeria and the 2019 general elections.

‎Nwodo, while also speaking on collapse of the ‘Fresh PDP’, said “If the Fresh PDP was allowed to form a structure on Monday, they would have given legitimacy to our members to leave the PDP.

“We have learnt our lessons and we are coming back more prepared and resolute to change the fortunes of this country.”

He said the reconciliation was‎ reached with the knowledge of the Board of Trustees (BoT), the National Working Committee (NWC) and other organs of the party.
