Davido has hit a major milestone for a Nigerian celebrity on Instagram. He has gotten 5 million followers on his Instagram account as disclosed by Ikorodudailynews. This makes him the first Nigerian celeb with such following on the picture sharing app Davido has proven that he is not any Nigerian celebrity’s mate at least on Instagram.

The popular singer recently hit a major milestone on the social media app. OBO now has 5 million followers on Instagram, no mean feat. This puts him ahead of Wizkid who has 4 million followers and Funke Akindele with 3.8 million followers. Other Nigerian celebs who have hit the million follower mark include Tiwa Savage with 3.7 million, Don Jazzy with 3.4 million, and Genevieve Nnaji with 3.1 million.
On the world stage, our Nigerian stars are not on the same level as other established celebrities. For instance, actress/singer Selena Gomez has 103 million followers, musician Taylor Swift is the second most followed with 94.1 million followers and singer Ariana Grande with 90.5 million followers.
