Gurugram recently hosted a very unique beauty pageant. A beauty contest just for transgender women in the country.  Sixteen trans women from across India walked the ramp to win the title of Miss Trans Queen India, on Sunday, August 27. .

Hosted with the aim of empowering the trans community and to break the demarcations of beauty based on gender stereotypes, it has crowned Nitasha Biswas from Kolkata, as the winner! .
.
Nitasha, 26, currently pursuing Masters in Business Management in Kolkata, will now go on to represent India at the coveted Miss International Trans Queen in Thailand this year.
